Heather Bruce, MA, PLPC

I believe that wonderful things can happen when we feel safe, validated, and connected to those around us. My goal is to provide that environment for every client that I work with. I aim to work alongside my clients to help them better understand their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, as well as how they can begin to live a life that they find fulfilling. My passion is helping my clients feel empowered, especially during those times when life feels hard.

I received my master’s degree in Professional Counseling at Lindenwood University in 2019 and I am provisionally licensed in the state of Missouri. I have worked various roles in the mental health field for more than 8 years and have been a therapist at LifeWork since 2020. I work with both adolescents and adults who struggle with depression, anxiety, difficulty regulating their emotions, self-harm, and suicidal ideation. I am trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), which helps individuals learn coping skills that can be incorporated into their daily lives to help them reduce high levels of emotion; reduce impulsive decisions and actions; improve relationships; and be more mindful of the present moment.

In my free time I enjoy spending time with my husband and two children. I also enjoy reading, baking, trying new restaurants, and attending concerts and comedy shows.

I am currently working with a clinical supervisor, Amy Beck, LPC. I do not accept insurance at this time and my out-of-pocket rate is $70.
