I want to help you help yourself. I think one of the biggest things I can do to help people is to teach them the skills they need to succeed. I specialize in full-model Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for PTSD and other trauma related disorders.
Do you feel you are more sensitive to things around you? Does this cause you to want to hide the way you feel because you fear others won't understand? Do you feel suicidal or have you struggled with self-harm? I want to help you push through these struggles and develop a life-worth-living. I have found that so often people who struggle with feeling in control of their emotions also have a history of trauma, so it makes sense to me to work on both. I want to help you feel better and feel you have more control.
I started my career in Chicago in 2012 after graduating with a Masters in Clinical Counseling from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. My first job out of school was a Mental Health Crisis Worker and I was a case manager for chronically mentally ill adults. Once I moved back to St. Louis I started doing DBT therapy and soon after was trained in EMDR. I feel both these therapies go very well together and can help people who are struggling in so many ways.
In my free time I love being with my family and friends, usually doing something outdoors. I also love to cook, specifically plant-based foods, and have a slight obsession with cookbooks.
Specializations: Emotion Dysregulation, Complex Trauma, Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, Borderline Personality Disorder, Learning Disabilities, Anger management, Bipolar Disorder, peer relationships, school struggles, self-harming, suicidal thoughts/actions, Survivors of Suicide, and postpartum issues.
I accept the following insurance plans: Anthem BCBS, Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare. My out of pocket rate is $130 per session.
