DIALECTICAL BEHAVIOR THERAPY

At LifeWork LLC

"When I started DBT with LifeWork, I entered thinking, 'This won’t work; nothing has and nothing ever will. I’m a lost cause. This is just the way I am and I have to deal with it.' But I was wrong this time; my life is better today because LifeWork showed me the way to make it better."

LifeWork has a comprehensive DBT program for adults and adolescents. Each person in our DBT program attends one individual session per week, one skills class per week, and has ongoing access to a team of LifeWork therapists who can help them through moments of crisis. Each therapist at LifeWork also participates in a weekly consultation team in which they consult on clients, work on emotional and behavioral difficulties in their own lives and ensure adherence to the treatment.

The skills class is not a support group. While it is a supportive environment, it's like attending a class where you will learn the DBT skills. It takes about 6 months of skills group to learn all of the skills in the DBT curriculum. Almost all of the discussion focuses on skills and their usage. We accept insurance for individual sessions and all of our skills groups are $45 weekly out-of-pocket.

DBT for Adults
If you join our DBT program, you'll be asked to meet with one of our individual therapists and join one of our skills classes. Currently our adult groups are held on Mondays from 7:15 to 8:45 p.m., Tuesdays from 9:30 to 11 a.m., or Wednesdays from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

DBT for Adolescents

Our adolescent program is for teens between the ages of 14 and 18. In our adolescent skills classes, both the adolescent and one parent or guardian attends weekly. A parent may be asked to attend part of each individual session, too. Our adolescent groups are held on Mondays or Tuesdays from 5:30 to 7 p.m. or Wednesdays from 7:15 to 8:45 p.m.

LifeWork offers a Challenge skills group for clients who have completed Stage 1 DBT. Therapists from outside agencies who have clients that might benefit from this group are welcome to complete a referral form here.
